The Pine Barrens - Hawking Bridge to Beaver Branch

We spent the day canoeing with friends--Christina and Dean--on the Wading River in New Jersey's Pine Barrens.

The Pine Barrens are a massive collection of pitch pines and Atlantic White Cedars that spread across one of the Atlantic Ocean's largest coastal plains. We ate wild blueberries, saw gorgeous water lilies sprawling on the water's surface, and had a quiet picnic among the pines. All in all, a lovely day.
